Voters know what's best for themselves. The politicians running Jefferson City seem to think Missourians aren’t smart enough to have a voice in our government. Overturning ballot measures is unconstitutional and corrupt. Gerrymandering districts so legislators choose their voters instead of voters choosing their legislators is absurd and undemocratic.

Missourians have come together time and time again to pass ballot measures. Paid sick leave, abortion access, and more have been spoken for by the people. Despite that, Missouri republicans go back on their small-government values and put those same issues back on the ballot.

I fully support the work of Respect Missouri Voters and their effort to amend the State Constitution to protect the initiative petition process.
